Arlene

Welcome to QUILTINANA'S. My name is Arlene Parker and I have been sewing for most of my life. When our oldest daughter went to college almost twenty years ago I made my first quilts for her and her roommate; it now is being used on the bed of her 4-year-old daughter. Whenever I see that quilt it triggers memories of making it and the fun my sister-in-law and I had as she taught me how to do log cabin blocks as we cut and pieced those two quilts in a weekend together. Since that time I have become quite addicted to quilting and tried my hand at a variety of different techniques. While I enjoy many styles and techniques for quilting projects, my favorite mediums are working with memory items and photographs to create very individualized items for people.

I enjoy piecing projects and seeing the idea become a reality in fabric. I have also in the last two to three years gotten more involved in the actual quilting of the projects. After struggling with three full-queen sizes quilts around my regular sewing machine I purchased a short-arm quilting machine and have had great fun developing those techniques. Now I have upgraded to a long arm machine to be able to do more variety in my quilting for myself and others.

Enjoy your visit to our web site. As you see something you like we would love the opportunity to chat with you about taking some of your memories and bringing them to life on fabric. We are also doing quilting for those of you who love to piece quilt tops but would prefer not to do the quilting so check out that information as well. We look forward to working with you to make your quilting dreams become realities.
